"But Meceo! If you're not gonna start a chat with someone you don't know that well, how are you EVER gonna connect with people!? It looks impossible to me! If you wanna connect with people, you gotta talk!"

And that is absolutely correct. If I wanna connect with someone, I gotta talk with that person. So why am I not doing that unless it's a group chat? Well.. the real difference between a 1v1 chat and a group chat is very simple in my eyes. In a group chat, I don't have to be so direct. My sense of humor is.. well.. all over the friggin place and in a group chat it's easy to say something stupid as "CHILI DOGS *DABS*" or "Snoci the very speedy porcupine!" for a random example or I can talk a little bit about my emotions because there are multiple people in there and everyone is free to reply to it. I don't feel like I'm targeting people. In a 1v1 chat it's different. It's me with just someone else. I don't know what they like to talk about, I don't know if they want to be random, I don't if they even FEEL like talking to me. And those are the things that make me feel like if I make the wrong move, that person might think that I'm annoying or something like that. And that scares me. It's much more comforting when that person is the one to message me because then it gives me.. kind of a green light to chat with them. Sending me a message first means to me that "Yes! I wanna talk with you! Yes! I have the time! Yes! You look like a cool person to talk to in this point in time!". That gives me a sense of relief.

I'd like to apologize for this long post and that I might have made some of you think that I don't wanna talk to you. I do wanna talk with you! I just don't know how or when. Which is why I'm rarely the one to send a direct message first. Anyways. That's enough outta me. Please enjoy your Thanksgiving day or birthday or whatever it is you are having today! Because you're worth it.
